Getting started

The basics

What is Animaruni?
A community-driven anime tracking service. Browse the AniList catalog, save favorites, rate what you've watched, and join discussions with other fans.

How do I sign in?
We use Google sign-in. Click Log in in the header and pick your Google account. We never see or store your Google password — the sign-in handshake happens with Google directly.

How do I save a favorite?
Sign in first, then click the ★ Add to favorites button on any anime. Your saved titles appear on your profile page.

About the data

Where does the anime data come from?
Titles, posters, scores, popularity counts and staff credits come from AniList. The names of opening and ending songs come from AnimeThemes, which is why you'll find them here even where other catalogs list only the artist. We keep a cached copy so pages load quickly and keep working if either source is down, and we reformat it to fit the site — but the facts are theirs, not ours, and we don't edit them.

What's the difference between Trending and Popular?
Trending is recency-weighted — currently airing or upcoming series. Popular is cumulative — sort the entire catalog by total members or favorites, optionally constrained to a time window.

Community

How do I post, vote, or comment?
Sign in, then head to the community feed. Use Create a post to start a discussion, pick a flair so people know what it is, and vote or reply on anything already there. Sort the feed by hot, new, or top.

Something breaks the rules. What do I do?
Use the … menu on any post or comment and choose Report, with a reason. Reports go to a queue a human reads. The same menu is how you delete your own posts and comments.

Adverts & privacy

How is Animaruni funded?
Right now, by affiliate commissions and donations — we don't currently show any adverts, though we may in future. Some outbound links to retailers carry a tracking tag: if you buy something after following one we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. Those links are marked Paid link where they appear.

Can I opt out of personalised adverts?
There are no adverts to personalise at the moment. We honour the Global Privacy Control browser signal automatically, with no account and no clicks — and if you'd like your preference recorded some other way, just ask us. Full detail is in the privacy policy.

Can I support Animaruni directly?
Yes — there's a support pagewith Ko-fi, Buy Me a Coffee, and Patreon links. Donations are voluntary and go towards hosting and development. They're not a purchase: they don't unlock features and they don't remove adverts. Payment is handled entirely by whichever platform you pick, so we never see your card details.

Contact our support team with the URL of the page, what you expected to happen, and what actually happened. Screenshots help.

Can I delete my account or my data?
You can delete your account yourself at any time: on your profile page, Delete account removes your profile, favorites, and watch library immediately and permanently. For a copy of your data, or any other request about it, contact our support team from the address tied to your account and we'll send it over.
